Application: Food Powder filling and packing machine for different types of products

Customer Challenge:

• The PLC unit had several defective I/O pins which hindered the operation of the machine and increased faults and maintenance stops, thus decreasing the production net value.
• Other integrated circuits used to control specific features in the machine were defective which decreased the performance of the machine more and more.

Solutions:

• We replaced the old PLC unit with a TM221 series PLC with sufficient spare I/O pins.
• Wiring modifications were made to dispose of old integrated circuits and add their functionality to PLC which reduced the size of the control panel and also the components used, facilitating maintenance process and troubleshooting in case of fault occurrence.

• Way much greater increase in production rate and net production value.
• Continuous operation with almost no critical maintenance stops.

• Rich HMI interface providing accurate values of each variable and ease of control and preset change.
• Adding spare variables that can be customized and calibrated by HMI to facilitate adding extra features to the machine.
